Four days a week consist of me observing my dog Boomer for Ms.Farias's AP English class. Boomer is a 6 year old Pitbull with white fur, and brown sugar spots. We adopted him from the animal shelter about 10 months ago. This assignment will take 2 months, it will take time, patience, and dedication. I will be ready to see the final results to this interesting assignment that will open my eyes to new things that I never pay attention to that Boomer has to offer.

There's More To It
On Thursday October 30th, I had a talk with Ms. Farias about my blog. I was confused on what to do to make my blogs interesting, engaging, something someone would want to read. For my observation I chose my dog Boomer, he started off somewhat interesting. As the observations continued he just got lazier and so boring to observe. Ms. Farias brought it to my attention that I need to look past just looking at my dog. Open my eyes and look at things more in depth. Details my dog has that I don't pay attention to. So I did. This morning while boomer layed in his bed I came up next to him to notice his nose. I noticed how pink it has gotten but yet how brown it is. The tip of his nose is as brown as brown can be, but is surrounded by a bubble gum pink blending in with his white fur. I'm glad my teacher made me open my eyes and realize there is a lot more than just staring at my dog waiting for something to happen. Think beyond this project and pay attention to those little things.

The line "bubble gum pink" is art. I love your chatty honest tone.
ReplyDeleteMy dogs nose changed over time too from really black to a bit of grey now. It's good that the talk with Ms. Farias made you open your eyes to see something cool and interesting in Boomer.
ReplyDeleteBy simply reading your blog I have received tips on how to make my own blog more interesting. I hope I can open my eyes the same way you did because at this point I feel a if I'm both observing and writing the exact same things each weekend. My dog looks very similar to your dog physically well their color and their nose and by the looks of it they also share the being lazy characteristic.
ReplyDeleteMy brothers Pitbull has pink on the top of his nose too. Is Boomer a red nose or blue nose?
