Today around 8:30 P.M my brothers friend knocked on our front door and Boomer rushed to the door. He growled but he always does that so it was nothing new. I let him in and boomer continued growling but this was a different growl from our dog. He walked around my bothers friend (Raul) for several seconds maybe minutes. It was almost as if he was staring him down. I then found out that when a dog barks it's usually because he's not used to a new sense of smell or presense. So I thought it was pretty normal but I then continued reading. If a dog is growling at you and is walking around you it is intimidated by your presence, you send off a bad vibe, or the dog is being territorial. In this case I think boomer was intimidated by my brothers friend only because my brother looses interest in boomer when his friends are over, he was being territorial over my brother. As I continued reading further and further I read that all dogs have a different bark for every feeling they have. An example, a whine is usually when sad or in pain, a bark is when the presence of someone who is known but not good enough. A tail wagging with their tongue out is recognizing the presence and sense of someone who they already know of.
