Sniff Sniff

Have you ever gotten those really annoying runny noses? How it's sniff after sniff, tissue after tissue? Usually we get them with allergies or a slight cold well not for Boomer. Today I saw him sniffing a lot and I couldn't get the chance to take an actual look because he just couldn't stay still, so I waited for the perfect chance to take a better look. Once I was given that chance I realized how dry his nose was becoming. It felt like a scrape, hard, bumpy etc. There's some sort of outlining around his nose like dry skin building up. I was confused on how his nose was so dry yet sounded as if it were so runny. I went onto 'petmd.com' and read that if a dog has a moist nose it means good hydration. If it has a dry nose that's a sign of no hydration and with no hydration the nose usually becomes itchy and dry which causes the dog to sniff a lot due to irritation. So I realized my dog has been low on hydration. Here's a look of my dogs (Boomer) nose.

There's More To It

On Thursday October 30th, I had a talk with Ms. Farias about my blog. I was confused on what to do to make my blogs interesting, engaging, something someone would want to read. For my observation I chose my dog Boomer, he started off somewhat interesting. As the observations continued he just got lazier and so boring to observe. Ms. Farias brought it to my attention that I need to look past just looking at my dog. Open my eyes and look at things more in depth. Details my dog has that I don't pay attention to. So I did. This morning while boomer layed in his bed I came up next to him to notice his nose. I noticed how pink it has gotten but yet how brown it is. The tip of his nose is as brown as brown can be, but is surrounded by a bubble gum pink blending in with his white fur. I'm glad my teacher made me open my eyes and realize there is a lot more than just staring at my dog waiting for something to happen. Think beyond this project and pay attention to those little things.
